Dr. Richard Barton

Dr. Barton received his medical degree from Albany Medical College, Albany, New York in 1982. He completed a four year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Loyola University of Chicago Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois in 1986.

From mid 1986 to mid 1991 Dr. Barton was employed by Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine as an Instructor and Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology and had an ob-gyn practice both in Maywood and Oakbrook Terrace. He left Loyola to join the practice of Dr. George A. Banuelos in July of 1991 and was associated with Western DuPage Obstetrics & Gynecology until March 2009. He is now in solo practice.

Dr. Barton was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1988. He was re-certified in 1998. His annual recertification is current. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is married and has six children and 14 grandchildren.

Dr. Barton was born in upstate New York and has lived in Finland and Mexico. He is fluent in Spanish and dabbles in multiple languages. Dr. Barton is an avid reader and enjoys learning about various subjects from his patients. Dr. Barton is a very kind, generous, and accommodating physician. He also possesses a passion for computer technology and the Internet. As such, he is dedicated to using technology to improve medical care.
